Michael Matt at The Remnant says it’s time to Unite The Clans. Fr Z agrees. I say it’s past time.

Z says:

What he is asking for is that Catholics who are on the traditional side of things should set aside small differences and work together — intelligently, strategically — to accomplish goals…

By contrast, conservatives and traditionalists tend to defend their own little wrinkle of turf to the point that they won’t unite and work with others. They couldn’t organize a bird-cage.

Matt says (his ellipsis) “We don’t have to like each other…but can we go to war together?”

Yes, we can. And must. Accepting, of course, that war takes many forms.

Yet no sooner did Matt make the necessary call to cease internecine bickering than people on the side of Reality and Tradition started recalling past squabbles among themselves. About who said what and when against the SSPX, or how they praised or ridiculed “sedes”, or what side they took about the status of the Pope, or some over obscure question of theology. Et cetera.

A counter argument against uniting sprang up. It ran like this: How can we work together until we have aired and righted all past grievances, made the necessary apologies, come to perfect agreement on a set of principles, and defined with precision the lineaments of our new organization?

The expected and true answer is that we cannot. The conclusion is that we should instead go on pissing on each other—in public loudly and endlessly—over petty disagreements, hurtful slights, minor interpretation and worship differences, and even salaries.

We sound like a busload of premenstrual high school cheerleaders who had their cell phone privileges revoked.

At the moment I write this, the New York Post has an article about a sodomite boasting of having busted the asses of over 20,000 men. Right next to it is one about Fr Sosa, the Devil, and the strange new orthodoxy in Rome, about the Jesuit’s refusing to recant his error that Satan is not a person.

Regular readers will have followed The Week In Doom series, which has cataloged each Saturday over a period of years the various ways humanity is going to Hell, both literally and figuratively.

There is no sense that things are getting better, not anywhere. There is a palpable fear that the leftist singularity, or something very like it, is imminent.

Here’s an eerie example. In the past two weeks I have come across, from entirely separate sources, the same lines of Lovecraft’s about the return of Chthulu’s reign on earth (best source):

The time would be easy to know, for then mankind would have become as the Great Old Ones; free and wild and beyond good and evil, with laws and morals thrown aside and all men shouting and killing and revelling in joy. Then the liberated Old Ones would teach them new ways to shout and kill and revel and enjoy themselves, and all the earth would flame with a holocaust of ecstasy and freedom.

Man “beyond good and evil” is man as god. We are not yet there; this total “freedom” is not yet global. The pace to the final destination only accelerates.

Enough bickering, brothers.

Next time you see somebody in the Reality and Tradition camp, whether the follow God or Nature’s god, say something which, to you, appears off—ignore it. Stop punching right!

And don’t punch to close to your left, either.

It is not necessary. We have the entire government, bureaucracy, entertainment, media, academic complex who will do it for you. Worse, we have a host of professional conservatives who are so eager to signal their virtue that you will be stampeded on your way to the mic. Imagine—just imagine!—sniffing that racism or “anti-Semitism” or “homophobia” is bad or that “white supremacists” and “literal” Nazis are secretly building forces and feeling like you have accomplished something for our side.

Keep quiet in public. Tamp down your ego, let someone be wrong on the internet, and keep your mouth shut.

But if thy brother shall offend against thee, go, and rebuke him between thee and him alone. If he shall hear thee, thou shalt gain thy brother. And if he will not hear thee, take with thee one or two more: that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may stand. And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican.

We always forget Step One: rebuke in private.

The next major concern is that we have to have some sort of official public organization, which means somebody has to be in charge, only not that guy who once dissed so-and-so about a novus ordo mass, or not etc. etc. etc..

We don’t need no stinkin’ badges.

No (public) formal organization is necessary—or wanted. If we had something open and formal (and public), our enemies would use it to come after us. (Though small scale efforts like this school are fine and welcome.)

All we need is a truce among ourselves to keep personal disagreements out of the public eye. Arguing over obscure points is fine, but keep personalities out it.

And the points we love to fuss over are obscure. Good grief! We have a culture which believes two men can marry each other, that some women have penises, that killing the lives inside would-be mothers is great for the economy, that the economy is paramount, that we are slaves to our genes, that God Himself doesn’t exist, and that if He does He approves of sin.

Meanwhile we carp at each other over whether an altar boy tripping during an SSPX mass invalidates it (I saw that years ago on Eye of the Tiber). As important as that and many similar burning questions are, they all come in last in importance in our time.

We need a bit of policing for when tempers run hot, which they invariably will, given anybody who writes for the public routinely has to be part asshole part prima donna and part hysteric at least some of the time.

When that happens, see Step One above.

What else? There are a slew of articles and books from Reality and Tradition sources warning about the hard times that are coming. They all offer the same excellent advice: quietly build friends, get yourself and your family into shape, eschew offensive violence and protest, read old books. And don’t be a rat.

Behold how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity.

  2. We Christians can work together. Shoot, we can even work with the better classes of pagans. You know, the ones who pretend to worship the old gods (whoever they might be – they’re normally a little fuzzy on that part), while for the most part acting like good Christians should.

I do, however, think it’s hilarious when they, in all seriousness, call themselves pagans – as if pagan was a specific religion. They’re mostly just religion LARPing. I can understand why, too. Most of the Christian churches have been under the control of the Left (i.e. doing the work of the Adversary) for generations. They’ve never seen strong, muscular Christianity. To them, Thor sets a better example than Social Justice Jesus.

    Good on Briggs, Matt, and Z! Have you got Voris on board? No?! CRACK! {jaw hitting floor}

McChuck said..”You know, the ones who pretend to worship the old gods (whoever they might be – I’m not sure worship is right word knowing now their role in history and the creation of humans as slaves. But I can name them Anu,
Enlil, Enki, Shamash, Enanna…the list goes on there were 12 principle ‘gods’
on earth at any given time over the course of 450,000 years.
When Christians realize they served as the template for all modern religions maybe we’ll be able to move forward. The Bible holds many truths but has been altered to reflect monotheism only, a literal translation of the OT reflects the Sumerian Polytheism it has been plagiarized from. People can either do a
little digging or remain deluded. Story’s of the gods and their super human
exploits have been handed down for millennia and this knowledge was
regarded as the seat of premiere wisdom for generations now to be dismissed,
with a wave of the hand, as mere myths. This cast of characters cuts across
all major religions and ethnic bounds and is a really big piece of history
that has been blanked out by organized religion. The Vatican certainly knows
all of this and more as do many secret societies, this is the core of all so called
secret knowledge, which dissembles into Egyptian incantations to call forth
these deities. We know for sure they were here they left several billion tons
of utterly impossible stone work scattered over the face of the earth for those
with eyes that see. Megalomaniac monuments to themselves for the most
    part.

I feel for the faithful within the Roman church. The same prog virus that has decimated every single protestant group is finally presenting real symptoms in the parent. Take heart! God is not mocked. You will come through it smaller and purer, poorer, likely–better off by far, if the pattern holds.

The gods of the gentiles are devils. God may lead us to work with pagans, I believe it’s happened in the past, but many of these pagans are intentionally messing with incredibly dark forces and it’s not wise to get too close without a clear distinct leading from God.

I’d much rather see practical unity among credal Christians like the “catacomb ecumenicism” Richard Wurmbrand saw in the Romanian communist prison system than too much enthusiasm for occult fascinated “neo-pagans”. Or the standard Gnostics that have been plaguing us nonstop for centuries it seems.

Not directed at WM Briggs but more generally, don’t try to learn too much from the enemy. They get the unity they have in spite of complete intellectual chaos because they are united in their enmity against God. Their contradictions don’t matter (which is why debate is so often fruitless) because the ideas aren’t the point, the point is rebellion. Our unity has to be centered on a right relationship with God and actual evangelism and walking with God is the thing that encompasses all things.

“We always forget Step One: rebuke in private.”

There is no WE. What you have forgotten is not what I have forgotten. I would know for sure if only I could remember.

In the past 12 months there have been 13,200,124 (a guess) private rebukes. You don’t know about them because they were private.

Frederic says “When Christians realize they served as the template for all modern religions maybe we’ll be able to move forward.”

There is no WE. You can move forward any time you wish, and where that gets you depends somewhat in what direction you are pointed.

All modern religions? That seems a bit eurocentric; I do not see 12 anythings in Chinese, Japanese and Hindu religions.

I used to work for a pro-life organization and I can tell you the left is organized, mobilized, and willing to work together with almost ANYONE left of center for a goal. They send people to protests in buses — people who may not know anything the issue (I once talked to the counter-protesters at an anti-Obamacare event, all of whom had the same signs and stood in one place so they looked like a big, coordinated group, and found that they were homeless people and college kids working with the homeless for a week and had all been bused there by pro-Obamacare activists from a different part of town) when conservatives come on their own. They print coordinated signs and stand together in prescribed ways and may use scripts. They have people send mass letters and emails, and make mass phone calls. To us it looks fake and insincere, but it gets results — as we see daily. They will throw each under the bus as soon as they get their way (or at least the ones who won’t toe whatever the day’s line is), but until they get their way they’re united. A prime example of this is “gay marriage” in New York, where the activists in charge got all the “weird” activists to shut up (the ones for pedophilia, etc.) and say they all wanted the same thing, and only the same thing, even if this was a bald-faced lie. We are NOT good at this and in our zeal to stand up for what we believe in, we go the other way and fight among ourselves.

You got me all wrong Hoyos I’m no pagan occultist I was baptized in the
Church of England and see myself as what you might call a distilled
Catholic. I positively adore the Catholic Mass and have attended several times
though I do miss the liturgy in Latin . What I’m into is the actual course of events that have occurred on this planet because what passes as history is a bunch
of made up BS. Time is immutable and there is but one course of events that
have happened and believe it or not that course of events is locked in time.
Improbable as it may seem at some point, possibly through the manipulation
of the neutrino field, we will be able to access the actual events at any given
time in the past. Call me crazy but I believe in Methuselah, I believe the things
in the Bible you probably don’t. Ask yourself why was the book of Enoch
left out of the Bible; was it was far too explicit and rich in detail of an unknown world.. God’s abode. As it says in the Bible in the end all things will be revealed.

  10. Hoyos

Frederic, if it’s any consolation and it’s probably not, the pagan occult line wasn’t directed at you but the Gnostic part was.

It’s the secret knowledge thing, the idea that God hasn’t been guiding the great mass of His people, or preserving His word, but instead the scriptures aren’t really the scriptures, but secret knowledge is needed to divine the truth therein. You’re certainly not crazy for believing in Methuselah, and I think I can prove that I believe in things in the Bible that you don’t, such that God preserves His word, and that there is only one God.

Jesus Christ came in the flesh and after He ascended to Heaven, the Holy Spirit guides His people. The true doctrine isn’t a secret and is that which His people have believed a]since the beginning.

  11. Frederic

Hoyos: Well thanks for the consolation but what I was rather hoping for was
absolution but I’ll settle for that…. Cheers

Mike 2 take a look at their Zodiac’s
Sexagesimal. Sexagesimal (base 60) is a numeral system with sixty as its base. It originated with the ancient Sumerians in the 3rd millennium BC, was passed down to the ancient Babylonians, and is still used—in a modified form—for measuring time, angles, and geographic coordinates.

One of the best movies ever!! Love what Captain America said: “There’s a scene in The Avengers where Captain America is about to jump out of a jet to intervene in a conflict between Iron Man and Thor. Prior to his jump, the Black Widow cautions against this intervention, because Iron Man and Thor are essentially gods. Captain America shrugs this off, “There’s only one God, ma’am, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t dress like that.”

Also, all women who have ever been pregnant are moms, forever, and are not moms-to-be.

And since Catholicism was specifically brought up, there is much necessary to speak up about concerning much of what Pope Francis is about, that is not of Catholicism.

See here where Pope Francis signed this document along with the Imam whoch document says that God willed the diversity of religions…which is a false statement about God:
