From the NY Times:

Major Earthquake Strikes Taiwan…

The U.S. Geological Survey said the 6.4-magnitude quake was centered off the eastern coast of Taiwan…The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not immediately issue any warning.

Shook me around a bit, opened some cupboard doors, and kept me up way past my bedtime, but that’s it for me. I’d show you a picture of my open cupboard door, but since it contains my unmentionables, I won’t.

TV stations—as near as my lousy Chinese can tell—aren’t reporting any major injuries. It was fun!

I recall much bigger quakes when I lived in Okinawa. Woke up to one strong enough to walk the bed across the room.

This one was certainly caused by all that extra weight pressing down on the island from this week’s earlier snowfall.

Good night all.
