The Ignorant Lead The Misinformed On Strike

The Ignorant Lead The Misinformed On Strike

It should not be considered hurtful or insulting to call somebody ignorant when this somebody knows naught about the subject on which she is preaching. If even I, for example, were to lecture and harangue you on the subject of pre-Columbia Peruvian pottery, about which I know zippo, except that such pottery exists, you could rightfully call me ignorant. I would not weep.

Greta Thunberg, who is leading tykes the world over on a “climate strike”, is ignorant about the earth’s climate. Beyond knowing that it exists, and having absorbed a slew of false and monstrously improbable statistics, little Greta is abominably untutored about the physics of a differentially heated fluid flowing over a rotating sphere. I have fifty bucks says she could not define vorticity. And it’s a good bet she doesn’t even know why they sky is blue. During a cloudless sunny day, that is. (Do you, dear reader; without looking it up, I mean.)

Yet she says she wants us to feel the fear she feels over the climate. Sorry, sweetheart. Nobody still in love with Reality would attempt simulating the emotional state of a teenage girl. Especially about global warming.

Nobody that is, except for a guy named Jonathan Franzen, who I’ve been informed had some sort of feud with Oprah. This made him a celebrity, and there is nobody more qualified on every subject than a celebrity. Franzen did his best to sound like a squealing girl in a New Yorker piece, which even on line had the stains of his tears.

Celebrity Franzen, who all evidence indicates is even more ignorant on dynamics that little Greta, said “The climate apocalypse is coming. To prepare for it, we need to admit that we can’t prevent it.”

Climate apocalypse?

Today, the scientific evidence verges on irrefutable. If you’re younger than sixty, you have a good chance of witnessing the radical destabilization of life on earth—massive crop failures, apocalyptic fires, imploding economies, epic flooding, hundreds of millions of refugees fleeing regions made uninhabitable by extreme heat or permanent drought. If you’re under thirty, you’re all but guaranteed to witness it.

This is what soy can do to you, dear reader. Stay away from its unfermented forms.

Only a person who knows nothing whatsoever about the subject, or a willful bamboozler, can say, as celebrity Franzen says, “Our atmosphere and oceans can absorb only so much heat before climate change, intensified by various feedback loops, spins completely out of control.” At least celebrity Franzen is aware he is a celebrity. “As a non-scientist, I do my own kind of modelling….” Which have no bearing on Reality.

Not being a scientist has not discouraged celebrity Franzen in the least, nor has it dampened the ardor of his New Yorker editor, from speaking on matters scientific.

Hasn’t stopped little Greta, either. Who, Sara Silverman, in one of her blasphemies searching for a laugh, has called “Jesus.” Silverman is person who tells jokes. So she, too, is ignorant about the climate. And history—but let that pass.

Here’s little Greta:

“Hope is something you need to deserve,” the 16-year-old from Sweden said in an interview with The Post, as she continues her push for global leaders to take more aggressive action…

But by the time the 16-year-old arrived in the United States in late August after a two-week ocean voyage on a zero-emissions boat, she was an icon of the youth climate movement. She has published a book, given barn-burning speeches before audiences of the world’s political and business leaders and been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. This coming Friday, she plans to lead a protest in New York ahead of a United Nations summit on climate action. Hundreds of thousands of students across more than 150 countries have said they plan to walk out of school in solidarity with her.

This truly is the ignorant Leading the misinformed on strike. It is encouraged by people who ought to know better, by those, that is, who know that little Greta is ignorant about the climate. This does not stop them from encouraging little ignorant Greta and her misinformed followers.

This is (as we’ve said before) proof positive that those encouraging little ignorant Greta are trying to scam the rest of us. Whether they’ll get away with more than this asinine demonstrations is an open question. But given they (rather, their offices) have been trying to get away with it since the 1970s, and no amount of Reality can correct them, chances are they’ll get away with it.

From a forthcoming edition of “Bartlett’s Incoherent Quotations”:

“Hope is something you need to deserve…”
    — Greta Toonberg [sp?]

The Farce is strong with this one.

The current climate frenzy is eerily reminiscent of the “Children’s Crusade” of the 1200s. In the same vein they had no real agenda that I know of. Apparently they thought that they could overcome the Muslims by just going to Jerusalem. At least one group tried to sail to Jerusalem from France and were sold into slavery.

Trigger: Your spelling is not technically correct, but quite accurate.

Briggs: Yes, I know why the sky is blue. I did have to check why it’s not purple, however.

Sara Silverman is a brain-dead liberal and a fine example of why women should never have been allowed to vote.

Greta reminds me of the Salem Witchcraft trials where three HYSTERICAL idiotic XX children (plus the compliant morons that passed as “adults”) managed to get a small number (thank goodness) killed and a couple of hundred women tormented. Humans are idiots and have been for ions. Probably since day one or we’d still be in the Garden of Eden. Any other species as clueless as humans would have gone exist by now. Obviously, there is a God and he’s not finished with humans yet.

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.” — Isaiah 11:6

hmmm…. not a single iota said about the ignorance of the child involved (nor even of the other creatures)

Sheri: “Sara Silverman is a brain-dead liberal and a fine example of why women should never have been allowed to vote.”

I’m sure it’s possible to formulate a coherent argument in favor of giving women the vote; why is it that all the women who attempt it come off as counter-examples?

And now some of our elites propose lowering the voting age. Despite the obvious example of Miss Thunberg.

“Hope is something you need to deserve…” — Greta Toonberg [sp?]

It would have been funnier if she caught herself, and tried to fix it.
…oh oh oh… Hope is something you deserve to need… … no no wait … you need to hope to deserve something you need… ??? …you need to deserve something you hope for… ??? …you deserve to need something you hope for… um … I’ll talk to my speech writer and get back to you, ok?

    Reminds me of this “classic.”

(back in the day when a Leftist could mock other Leftists, and it wouldn’t cost him his career)

It would have been awesome if she had put on a false beard before she gave that welcomed hero speech.

    Let’s see, now…

    wolf
    lamb
    leopard
    kid
    calf
    young lion
    fatling

Nope. No humans on that list.

Maybe it’s symbolic rather than literal?
“the con-man, his mark, the thief, his victims, the bully and his.”?

Whatever, that child isn’t leading people, or at least not sensible ones, anyway. And in “Toonberg’s” case, and that of those who follow her, perhaps it’s more appropriate to say of them that “a little child shall mislead them”?

They’re so vain, if they think that prophecy is about them, about them…

AGW is dead but lots of people are still flogging that dead horse. For example, scientists, like Michael Mann, that hitched their wagon to global warming. They wanted fame and fortune and don’t want to look foolish. Greedy college presidents that want to keep the government funding spigot turned on to research AGW. Ambitious politicians that want to increase the size and power of government. Ignorant journalists that never saw a dooms day press release they didn’t like.

You really can’t blame Greta and others like her. They’ve been thoroughly indoctrinated and are only regurgitating what they’ve been taught.

Tucker Carson devoted a lot of his program last night to the topic of not only the Strike but Climate Catastrophe in general. It’s worth watching if you haven’t seen it (the clip is about 5 minutes). He rightly points out that the Strike isn’t being led by the kids and also mentions their manifesto is calling for things not about the environment but things like single parent health care, state owned banks, affordable housing, etc. IOW: it’s all about the economy and not the environment at all. The environment business is just a smoke screen for socialist takeover.

What it means for school kids to “go on strike”, anyway? Going on strike usually means stopping work for higher pay, better benefits, etc. The stoppage is to coerce concessions from those employing the workers. What exactly are these kids no longer doing when they Go On Strike? Attending classes? How is their “strike” intended to coerce any concessions?

Not only do these people not understand vorticity, but most of them don’t know the difference between accuracy and precision. Even many climate scientists show a lack of understanding the difference as they average the measurements of multiple instruments and claim a higher accuracy than any of them alone are rated at.

Greta Thunberg is sixteen and, like most sixteen year-olds, is governed by the need to please her parents. She is slightly autistic, which means among other things that she doesn’t realize that many adults say things they don’t believe are literally true, simply because it is fashionable to say them. (Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, for example, apparently believes that morally correct trumps factually correct.)

Remember that Greta is just sixteen, so she has a lot of time ahead of her. After about ten years, during which the world’s peoples will keep on using more and more fossil fuels, and when the climate disaster she believes is imminent is still ten years in the future, she may catch on that the whole thing was a monster-under-the-bed story. That would be the way to bet.
