Harvard Tries To Blame The Coronadoom On Climate Change

From Z man I got the link to a debased Harvard site which claims the coronadoom was caused by—no, not white supremacy, not directly—by climate change.

The site is, if you can believe it, “A Conversation on COVID-19 with Dr. Aaron Bernstein, Director of Harvard Chan C-CHANGE“.

Presumably the “C” is pronounced cha as in change, so that you stutter chachange to show how deeply you care about the planet.

The PR flak running the site (which might have even been Bernstein himself) asked chachange Bernstein a series of questions, beginning with “Does climate change affect the transmission of coronavirus?”

The obvious answer to this is: No, what a stupid question. But chachange Bernstein said

We don’t have direct evidence that climate change is influencing the spread of COVID-19…

Looks like the interview is going to stay with Reality, doesn’t it. But you know there’s a big but coming. My emphasis.

but we do know that climate change alters how we relate to other species on Earth and that matters to our health and our risk for infections.

The answer is still no, but did you know that climate chachange causes things to change? And things can only change so that they’re more dangerous, more lethal, scarier, implies chachange Bernstein.

As the planet heats up, animals big and small, on land and in the sea, are headed to the poles to get out of the heat. That means animals are coming into contact with other animals they normally wouldn’t, and that creates an opportunity for pathogens to get into new hosts.

Science&tm; tells us the fraction of a degree chachange in temperature over the last century must have caused animals to move at least dozens of feet from their starting positions. And you know that animals in the wild are nasty things. Therefore, not yes, but I really want to say yes, knowing I can’t say yes, but I’ll say something that sounds like yes, but isn’t. That clear?

Next question. “Will warmer weather slow the spread of coronavirus?”

The answer to this, as we see every damned week for well over a year, is: Yes, what a stupid question. But chachange Bernstein said:

We don’t yet have a sense of what the changing weather will mean for COVID-19 and so we shouldn’t rely upon warmer weather to curtail transmissions. We need to do everything we can right now to slow the spread of this disease, and that means we need to follow the advice that public health experts are telling us and practice social distancing and good hand hygiene, among other actions.

He couldn’t resist, after either his ignorance or his lie, to mother us by telling us to wash our hands. Which would we would never do were it not for the continuous advice from experts.

Incidentally, which do you think it is: ignorance or deceit?

Next question. “How likely are we to see infectious disease spread as a result of climate change?”

The answer is, “Not at all likely, what a stupid question.” But chachange Bernstein said:

Climate change has already made conditions more favorable to the spread of some infectious diseases…Future risks are not easy to foretell, but climate change hits hard on several fronts that matter to when and where pathogens appear, including temperature and rainfall patterns. To help limit the risk of infectious diseases, we should do all we can to vastly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.

Again, he can’t bring himself to give the obvious answer, but aches with desire to say yes. Passing over the propaganda at the end of this answer, it helps to recall that most who are concerned with global cooling because they desire its “solution.” Without that “solution”, they wouldn’t give a damn.

Part of the “solution” is paying chachange Bernstein’s way in life, and to making him into an expert, an important person.

Next question. “Climate change and global health policy are largely treated as separate issues by the public and media. Do we need to adjust our thinking?”

The answer is, “No, what a stupid question.” But chachange Bernstein said:

Yes. The separation of health and environmental policy is a ?dangerous delusion. Our health entirely depends on the climate and the other organisms we share the planet with. We need to bring these communities together.

Talks with the mosquito and other organisms in the blood-sucking community to convince them to be less annoying have gone nowhere so far.

So now that there are cheetahs, lions, tigers, elephants, snakes, alligators, and other tropical animals invading the poles we need to panic. We will start seeing tigerpenguins, polaralligator bears, and other new and deadly creatures at the poles that will create super viruses and super mosquitos???????

My answer: Why yes, climate weirding (the official John Kerry term, used while he admitted he cannot explain any of the climate stuff) did change the transmission of Covid. IT KEPT IT FROM BEING 1000 TIMES WORSE.

Where is that warmer weather???? We dug our cars out of 30 inches of snow from this weekend. Texans froze to death just a couple of weeks ago. WHERE IS THE WARM????? If things don’t warm up, we’re going to start climate volleyball using the idiots that tell us it’s warmer as giant volleyballs to get enough exercise to not freeze to death.

Temperature of the earth in whatever area IS NOT RELATED TO MONEY, PUBLIC POLICY, ETC, except for John Kerry’s stupid airplane over usage. Knock him out of the sky and we’ll be fine.

Aaron Bernstein reminded me of rabbi Akiva, Shabbetai Tzevi, Moses Hess, Freud, Reich, Adorno, Marcuse, Fromm, I don’t know why… He didn’t remind me of Brittany Sellner or James Tour, I don’t know why….. ???????

I am so sick of the stupid-as-a-sack of potatoes woke/TheScience/Left/Democrat mob. Absolutely mentally exhausted from the never-ending parade of the ridiculous.

Each new day brings forth yet another breakthrough in willful ignorance.

At the risk of sounding like a lunatic myself, it is as if they were under some sort of alien mind control.

These arrogant Ivy League enviro-gods claim they want to save the world. If so, why don’t they support runaway global warming? Many people die from the heat, humans aren’t smart enough to move agriculture further north so large groups will starve to death, and the east coast of the US will be overrun with human eating alligators from Florida. Population plummets, no more greenhouse gasses, problem solved. Mother earth, or as the Babylonians called their god Ghia, will live happily ever after.

There’s basically nothing these days that they won’t try to blame on “climate change.”

I’m surprised some enterprising Leftist hasn’t figured out a way to blame Trump and January 6 on climate change.

I always ask myself, are these people fools or frauds? The answer is usually yes.

Back 50 years ago, when the climate change “experts” were concerned about global cooling, not global warming, one Global Policy recommendation (fortunately not implemented!) was to aerosol spray (from altitude) the Arctic with carbon black in order to increase warming due to heat absorption.

Imagine the consequences… Expert hubris never fails to impress.

Took a look at that Harvard page linked. It’s comically tendentious sophistry. Example:

Q: Does climate change affect the transmission of coronavirus?

A: ”As the planet heats up, animals big and small, on land and in the sea, are headed to the poles to get out of the heat.”

Q: And what will happen then, Dr. Bernstein?

A: When they get to the poles, in their mukluks and longjohns, all the animals big and small, on land and in the sea, will get together and play cards and mix infectious diseases and methane farts and they’ll smoke and drink and try to outlaw central banking, and this will cause the planet to tip over and everyone will fall into space and die and OMG!—give us money and power so WE SUPERIOR GOOD PEOPLE can save the world from you ignorant hitlerite clodhoppers.

    Q: Thanks Dr. Bernstein!

We say Cha-Change out loud — We think to ourselves: Cha-CHING!

    Climate Cha-CHING!

    Nice one Cricket.

Dennis–That’s fascinating. Some do postulate the warming since 1970 has coincided with cleaner air. The decrease in atmospheric particulates, meaning less sunlight (heat) is blocked/reflected away from the Earth, hence slight warming. And of course, the prior cooling trend attributed to increased atmospheric particulates.

Two factors (temperature, particulates) regressed against one another, reduced to a correlation assumes an explanation that ignores all other factors (variables) is the height of hubris.

But then Bill Gates must know what he’s talking about because he has all that money–and you and I don’t.

Mr. Briggs misses a massive opportunity here!

    Allow me to help.
Rather than criticizing this approach, we should embrace it! Think of what could be accomplished using such a model.

    The Interlocutor:
William, does Climate Change (Big Caps!) have an impact on how your book, The Price of Panic should be valued by the public?

    Answer:
We don’t have direct evidence yet that the public understands that, but yes, absolutely Climate Change can alter the amount of light reflected from a changing planet and that naturally would increase the number of hours in any given day people could spend reading and learning from my book, which would significantly reduce the overall risk of risk.

    Question:
Will warmer weather improve the amount of audience penetration your book might have?

    Answer:
We don’t yet have a sense of what the changing weather will mean for my book and so we shouldn’t rely upon warmer weather to improve sales to the level required. We need to do everything we can right now to increase the spread of this volume, and that means we need to follow the advice that public health experts are telling us and practice social distancing and good hand hygiene, among other actions.

    Question:
“How likely are we to see more people using your book as a primary aid to policy making as a result of climate change?”

    Answer:
Climate change has already made conditions more favorable to the spread of some certain insightful truths, especially as they relate to helping people live better lives… Future risks are not easy to foretell, but climate change hits hard on several fronts that matter and my book is essential to all of them, including temperature and rainfall patterns. To help limit the risk of infectious diseases, we should do all we can to make sure my book is in the most hands possible, which will, of course vastly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.

    Just think of the possibilities!!

Forbes: I hadn’t heard that about atmospheric particulates perhaps being a cause of prior cooling and cleaner air now a cause of some slight warming…whatever the case, I think Gates’ idea to “fight warming” by spraying calcium carbonate in the stratosphere should be recognized as batsh*t insane by everyone. But he can spread enough grant money around that he can buy scientists at Harvard, Stanford, etc., to indulge the project, consequences be damned.
